What is Mercedes-Benz PARKTRONIC?
When it comes to intelligent technology features, few automakers offer as many as Mercedes-Benz. It can be hard to understand how all of these work or what they do, but regardless they can work wonders for you. Take PARKTRONIC for example. What is this feature? We’ll explain that in detail below so you know how it’s helping you out.
What Does Mercedes-Benz PARKTRONIC Do?
PARKTRONIC is an optional safety/convenience feature designed to get you in and out of tight spaces. It will point out parking spaces as it passes by them, but only if it detects them as being suitable for the size of your vehicle. Once it finds a spot appropriate for the size of your vehicle, the system will then display the correct steering positions on the screen ahead of you to make it easier to navigate into the open space.

Technology has come a long way over the years, and Mercedes-Benz has really taken advantage of it to perfect PARKTRONIC. There are six sensors in the front bumper and four in the rear bumper that sense proximity based on echo. Once the driver gets too close, both audible and visual signals will go off. However, it’s important to note that even with this feature, caution must still be taken. Some objects may not be detected in time, and if the sensors are partially covered in dirt, grime, ice, etc., they may not function correctly.
Parking is one of the less fun parts of driving. Luckily, Mercedes-Benz has lifted that burden in some of their vehicles. To see which vehicles offer PARKTRONIC or for information on anything else Mercedes-Benz has to offer, get in touch with the team at World Wide Motors in Indianapolis!
