2018 Mercedes-Benz X-Class Pickup Truck Towing & Payload Capacity
Mercedes-Benz has achieved many automotive firsts throughout its illustrious history, but never before has the German automaker produced a pickup truck. That all changed with the recent debut of the X-Class concept pickup truck, which features the classic characteristics of a star-branded vehicle — design, comfort, driving dynamics and safety, along with impressive pickup truck capabilities.
The new X-Class boasts a payload capacity of more than 2,200 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 7,000 pounds. This is the result of its powerful drive system and tough ladder-type frame. The top-of-the-line model will be powered by a V6 diesel in combination with 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive. The high-torque engine will provide high driving dynamics for both on-road and off-road use. The all-wheel-drive system will combine an electronic traction system, a transfer case with reduction gear and two differential locks.
